Chronology of cameras Goldammer

This is a very nice quality camera , but some technical choices may be found questionable . So, why have made ??such a big size for a use with 16 mm film only? The only dimension that is smaller than that of the compact type Rollei 35 is the thickness , and by very few ( 2 mm with the Rollei lens retracted )
The exact type of film is unknown to us . A " Karat " type small plastic Kodak cartridge was inside, but it was clearly not compatible with the rewind system which is very similar to those of the 35 mm cameras.
The large knob like a liner chimney allows for the film winding and the shutter cocking, the shutter release button is the small rectangle next to it . The speed selector is a small wheel in front of the cocking button. The diaphragm adjustment ring is traditionally located around the lens.
The lens is interchangeable with a thread "C" mount  that is more common on film cameras. The only other lens indicated in the McKeown 's is an Ennagon 50 mm with a 2.8 aperture , probably hard to find.
A type 82 exists that provides a X/M selector for the flash sync . The code 81 or 82 is the beginning of the serial numbers of these cameras
